My 10+ year-old Arc'Teryx climbing pack's zippers finally gave up the ghost and I needed a pack quickly. I had my doubts that a $40 pack would compare, but I was going climbing and it was in stock and shipped quickly. So the good news is that for the price, it's good enough to get from the car to the crag if we're talking 15 mins or less. I've only used it once, but the material seems fairly durable just from the look and feel. Also the way space is divided up (pockets with zippers etc.) is decent. The not soo good and major deal breaker is that as another tall person (I'm 6'2 (~188cm)) wrote here, the waist belt is around the bottom of my ribs and not my hips with the shoulder straps properly adjusted. The padding is also not nearly as supportive as what a nice (read 5x+ the price) pack would have. The buckles are not nearly as heavy duty and I worry about their longevity. The straps also very easily loosen if you tug them. I'm used to having to cock the buckles a bit and then pull for them to release. Finally the "50L" is well, optimistic. Let's just say that I had to carry my rope strapped on the outside of the pack whereas I could easily fit it inside of my Arc'Teryx 50L pack. It is well designed in that you can strap the rope in between the "brain" and the main pack. Kudos for that. It'll become my (climbing) gym bag and I'll get one like my previous pack for long approaches outside. I could not imagine hiking with all my climbing gear in this one for 30+ mins. Oh one more thing, there was a rain shell in the bottom pocket. Some have posted they didn't get one. I'd also wonder if they looked as there are sort of two bottom pockets with zippers on opposite sides and is easy to miss. (One larger and one smaller.) So in summary, don't expect this to compare to high-end packs, but if you aren't going on long hikes and just need a pack that is well-divided, then it seems like it's decent value for the price. Perhaps if you have a much shorter torso, then it'd be a better fit.Love everything about it. Just need to get the water bag for it now.I bought this bag for a recent trip to Europe. All in all, it did exactly what I needed it to. It was easy to carry on the plane and not too uncomfortable to wear on my shoulders. I didnt use the waist strap cause I have a shorter torso so it didnt really work for me but it was lightweight which was nice. The only thing that I didnt care for was that the inner pocket on the bottom ripped before I even used it.Nice lightweight. I’ve used it three times. This is my first original backpacking daypack. I enjoy using it but a few of the seems are coming undone. If you're looking for the rain over look at the bottom of the bag!!! There's a little pocket that stuffs it away. I was sad at first that I didn't see a raincover though I kind of expected it due to some of the reviews, after seeing my boyfriends in a hidden pocket on the bottom of his bag I decided to look at mine and lo and behold.... the advertised rain cover! It's a super cute color and I like how light weight it is. Have yet to take it out on a real trip so I will update this when I do, but so far pleasantly surprised. A lot of pockets and buckles to place things away and nice amount of space. I wish the inside to hold up the water bladder was actually a clip or something instead of just a hook because it seems to hang too low to actually hold my water bladder up in place and just keeps coming off, but it has a pouch and with how much I'll put in here anyways I doubt I'll have much of an issue.**Update** would definitely not recommend for backpacking. I took it on a short trip with really light gear. It's just not durable enough or sewn well enough. Almost all of the outside straps were hanging by a thread by the time I got home. The buckles aren't very durable and will need replacing if I ever wanted to use it again most likely. The water bladder hook holds my bladder in place nicely actually and I liked the waist buckle with pockets. It was very comfortable. However due to the poor quality I'm taking my review down from a 5 star to a 3 star. It couldn't even last one trip sadly. More likely useful for day hiking.I went on a 3 day hike. This is a get what you pay for kind of product, if I was going to carry this for a few hours each day and take it off it would've done its job well. However I'm not a very big guy (5'10 190#) and when I first put this pack on I thought it may have been a womens pack based on the way it fit my shoulders. The stomach strap doesn't help much to alleviate weight from the back. It chafed my shoulders the whole time and put a strain on my back. I'll be spending the extra money next pack out for a pack with a structure for support, but I will be keeping this one to use for day hikes with my family, again overall this is a get what you pay for item. The pack is ok, but not great. The picture shows holding a lot of gear and clothes. I had the main compartment filled with two pairs of jeans and two shirts with no room left for food or anything. The shoe section barely help a pair of sneakers. It would not be useable for any sort of backpacking trip.I does at least have a good draw-string at the top of the beg and the top pulls over and clips in tightly. I found this to be just the right size for a couple of nights wild camping without it being too big or heavy. Has attachments for a water bag and straw line. Pockets on the hips are very handy!Absolutely livid with this product the straps are cheap and to short for the chest and to long around the waist sending it straight back don’t be fooled by the fancy pictures there’s not one picture showing the chest trap being used or the waist strap because they don’t workMy husband sent me the link for this rucksack for a Christmas present. He loves it. Can carry all the stuff we need for a family day out comfortably. He's really pleased with it. Rain cover was inside one of the pockets and will surely come in handy living in Stockport! Excellent item, brilliant seller.I've taken this bag on a few shorter treks and 10 mile hike + wild camp on the South West Coastal Path. (its long when haven't done one in yonks lol), I feel like I can give this an honest review. The good - A very good amount of storage space. Literally minimal, minute stuff to moan about here. The 2 side pockets are very handy for your water bottles to be stored. I found, with a fully packed bag, that I could have 2 full 850ml Smart Water bottles (one in each pocket), with a little space for things like a multi-tool, fire steel, or a small bottle of sun lotion. In the lid I kept my waterproof jacket, my first aid kit and the waterproof bag cover for ease access in case of emergencies. The bottom of the bag does have a separate compartment for things like wet shoes or clothing if you have a spare pair, but this can be fully opened internally to maximise the internal space of the bag. The front pocket I used for my gas windshield and bushbox, plus coffee sachets and my inhaler, yea sucks that I need one. In the main body I had my sleep mat (trekology ul80), my trekology pillow, sleeping bag, cook kit consisting of a titanium frying pan, titanium plate, odoland camping cookware kit (bought from Amazon), Mossy Oak multi-tool (you never know when you'll need one), poop trowel, water filter, spare clothes, headlamp, powerbank, charger cables, wet wipes. Oh and I had to tie my tent (Helm 2 compact) on the outside at the bottom. There's clips that hold it in place, no need for extra chord or anything. On the lid there is also additional clips which I used to keep my kneel pad secure. Weight wise: around 12-13kg (including food) for the long distance. 15kg for the short distance. The minimal moan is the pockets on the waist straps? They're so tiny there is literally no point unless all you wanna store in them in a lighter. The bad: For short distance treks with a heavy load, not too, too many bad things to say. It's tolerable. The chest strap that goes across your breast needs a longer strap to extend, it's very short and pretty restrictive. I'm not the skinniest of people, and I found I had to keep releasing it when it was at max length every now and then for my lungs to expand properly. Those straps are supposed to help distribute the weight on your back and take strain off your shoulders, not be restrictive. The breast strap NEEDS to be more extendable, not everyone is a skinny minnie. Just an extra inch or 2 (lol that's what she said) longer. When you get to longer walks, or a hike with a decent load... no. The shoulder straps start to dig in, especially under the armpit moob area. I cant speak for any woman but damn, my man b00bs and shoulders were in a lot of pain after 12 hours. I had to keep holding the shoulder straps and pulling them to relieve some of the pressure.Overall its a damn good bag for shorter journeys and can take a lot of bashing about. But for long distance hikes, it needs a bit of work. The design is decent, the part which mainly hits your back is designed so there's a little space for airflow. Little being the keyword, there is airflow but you will still sweat as the bulk of the shoulder and hips are still in contact with you, tis like a little pocket of air.Hence the 4 stars. Extra padding on the shoulder straps, more length to extend on the chest strap and slightly bigger pockets on the waist belt...After thought on MY bag - I'm not sure this backpack will last that long if it is continually used for long distance hikes with a decent load and/or heavy loads for shorter treks, I'm seeing a few 'weak' spots show up, where the clip straps are pulling away from the main body, but then again I have put this bag through it's paces. We will see.Got this bag to do a bit of hiking/ wild camping. Overall a great piece of kit!Took it up into Snowdonia and camped out in some pretty terrible weather and it held out pretty well. I packed this to it's limits and noticed some stretching in the seams and heard a few pops whilst tightening all the straps but so far it's held pretty strong. As for water resistance my bag did absorb some water without the rain cover but once the rain cover was on it was spot on.In summary, I can't really fault this bag. Excellent value for money and would absolutely recommend.
